Editing Menu Text

The default PES 2008 menu text is rubbish. Thankfully it has the potential to be edited. Hence below I will talk you through the steps just in case you wish to take such measures. The process is very simple.

Disclaimer: Always back up original files when undertaking modifications to respective game files. I take no responsibility of any malfunctioning of the game after such changes are undertaken, insert modifications at your own risk.

Replacing the menu text via Game Graphic Studio

1. Open rv_e.img using Game Graphic Studio, when warning message comes, click no.

2. Scroll to menu_screens_110.bin file from left files and drag the 2nd logo image into the central pane.

3. Right click on the central image and choose 'Save As...' and save it on your computer. Note it is a 1024 by 1024 32 bit image file.

4. Now just open the image in a graphics package and edit it how you wish. I won't explain all the steps to change the default image, as there are various tutorials on the net on how to use graphics packages.

5. However when you initially open the file it should look like this:

You can make the text whatever style you wish but DO NOT change the background colour (unless you have already amended the game backgrounds) as this dark turquoise colour is semi transparent in the game by default and if you change it, the graphics will look odd. Any new text you make, need to be aligned as the default, I will overlay the two to explain what I mean.

7. See how the text matches, when you are happy with your design, save the final image as a 1024 by 1024 32 bit image file. Open it in Game Graphic Studio. Drag the central image over the 2nd image in menu_screens_110.bin and then close Game Graphic Studio. Once again it auto saves the file.

8. That's it, load the game as normal, viola you now have new menu text
