Fixing Game Crashes

If you are having trouble running the game specially after rebuilding the .img file, in that it crashes just when you get to the game itself, the quick tutorial below might be a remedy. Note the tutorial below works in the majority of cases where people experience the crash, it worked quite well for previous PES but I have not tested it fully in PES 2008, since I have a high end PC and don't need to use it myself

Hence I have included the tutorial below which is still valid in most cases.

Fixing crash issues by running PES via 3DAnalyze

1. Open 3DAnalyze, you should see a screen similar to the following:

2. Click SELECT. The Open dialog box appears.

3. From here, go to the main PES directory (Default is C:/Program Files/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 4). Select your "PES4.exe" file so it appears in the file name area. For PES 2008 it would be the PES2008.eve file which you would need to select.

4. Click Open.

5. Now from the DirectX 8.0 and 9.0 options section of 3D Analyze, checkbox "force SW TnL" from the performance side and "emulate HW TnL caps" from the Hardware Limits, similar to below.

6. Click Run.

That's it, now the game should load and run as normal. 3DAnalyze is a good utility since it allows you to run the game which you would otherwise be unable to due to some incompatibility after the afs rebuilding.

If at first it doesn't work, try tinkering a few more settings and try again. It works dependant on computer specifications and since we all have different set ups, it may work differently from person to person.
